North West Persia, Late 19th Century
9'0" x 13'0" (274 cm x 396 cm)
This traditional hand-woven Persian Serapi rug has a shaded mid-blue field containing a central coral medallion with angular palmette pendants, the linked ivory and mid-blue spandrels with an outer coral-salmon flowerhead serrated band, in a shaded blue palmette and serrated leaf vine border. This is an extremely fine, unusual piece.
