This antique, circa 1910, Persian Serab Runner has a buff-brown field scattered with a variety of flowerheads, animal figures and stylised hooked flowerheads issuing leafy sprays around a column of six tomato-red, golden-yellow and charcoal-black lozenges each containing angular floral vine, hooked floral motifs and stylised floral sprays, enclosed within a minor tomato-red and ivory reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe, in a sandy-brown border of polychrome stellar flowerheads between tomato-red flowerhead and shaded blue and charcoal-black reciprocal skittle-pattern stripes, plain outer charcoal-black and tomato-red minor stripes.
