This antique, circa 1900, Persian Serab runner has a deep indigo-blue field with a column of three bold brick-red cusped rectangular lozenges with serrated palmettes at each end, the lozenges each containing a central light blue panel and a brick-red inner panel with angular flowerheads surrounded by a variety of perching birds and floral motifs stepped brick-red part lozenges at each side, in a narrow dusty-pink border of meandering floral vine between light blue polychrome boteh stripes, plain outer camel-brown broad stripe.
