This antique Persian Serab runner has a buff-brown field with a curved ribbon and a lozenge at each side of a column of four brick-red, sea-green, shaded blue and pale aubergine-purple hooked lozenges each containing a central outwardly facing floral motif surrounded by angular floral vine, the brick-red and pale aubergine-purple linked stepped spandrels each containing triangular floral motifs, in an ivory and sandy-brown linked stepped lozenge border with a similar smaller lozenge in the centre and part-lozenges at the side between shaded sea-blue inner meandering angular floral vine and outer brick-red and shaded mole-brown reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe.
