This antique French Aubusson rug features a moss-green field with a sandy-yellow central medallion, a central floral motif surrounded by a raspberry-red petal band and a tobacco-brown lobed band issuing a delicate tulip motif all enclosed by a circle of polychrome flowerheads, at each end a large flowering vase issuing to the left and right a scrolling acanthus leaf vine terminating with a large flowerhead, with similar smaller acanthus leaf and flowerhead panels at each side, in a moss-green border with brick-red acanthus leaf vine linking rosettes between plain sandy-yellow stripes, outer moss-green stripe.
