This traditional hand-woven Romanian Bessarabian rug has an ivory field with an overall design of linked cusped circular medallions each containing a large cusped rosette surrounded by quartered ivory lozenges enclosing a delicate floral spray, linked by stylized X-motifs, in a broad ivory border of pictorial floral sprays and acanthus leaves between shaded red delicate ribbon and plain charcoal-black and red stripes.
