This traditional hand-woven Persian Serab rug has a central field with two large stepped lozenges each with a buff-brown and ivory angular vine around a central brick-red lozenge containing polychrome serrated leaves, angular floral motifs with angular lozenge and buff-brown pendants with a light blue castle-motif, the buff-brown spandrels and part-lozenges with polychrome angular flowerheads and stylised ribbon-motifs, in an ivory border of polychrome square lozenges alternating with open squares of six minor lozenges between brick-red polychrome angular floral vine and outer sea-blue reciprocal skittle-pattern stripes.
