Aubusson

This traditional hand-woven French Aubusson rug has a plain sandy-yellow field with an ivory cushion panel framed by an acanthus leaf vine with an eau-de-nil cartouche at each corner issuing a large floral bouquet, with blue acanthus leaf shell cartouches at each side with a stylized arched panel above, around a central floral cusped rosette surrounded by an ivory acanthus leaf linked vine issuing an acanthus leaf spray at each side, in a fox-brown border of meandering ribbon and floral vine between plain stripes.
