This traditional hand-woven French Savonnerie rug has a maroon field with a central ivory medallion with hanging crossed floral torch pendants, with an outer garland band around a light blue and sandy-yellow roundel containing cusped panel with shaded pink floral acanthus leaves alternating with angular palmettes around a central light brown central roundel, the scrolling acanthus leaf spandrels issuing a large floral bouquet, in an eau-de-nil and shaded blackcurrant-red double border with similar paired acanthus leaf cusped palmettes and stylized linked ball motifs, plain outer eau-de-nil stripes.
