This vintage, circa 1890, Serapi rug has a tomato-red field with a central indigo-blue cusped medallion with a central ivory lozenge issuing bold dusty-pink flowerheads, surrounded by bold polychrome angular palmettes and floral sprays, the tomato-red and ivory spandrels similar, in a deep indigo-blue border with polychrome turtle-palmettes linked by angular floral and leafy vine between ivory meandering floral vine stripes.
