This antique Oushak rug has a field with shaded bottle-green central panel containing angular vines forming four linked lozenges each containing a central brick-red and shaded bottle-green central panel, to each side of the central panel, a pair of brick-red similar panels with a central large bottle-green octagon and a central stepped panel surrounded by a band of angular floral vine, above and below the central field a broad ivory band with a brick-red central cartouche with a strong ivory hooked vine and a pair of angular serrated leaf motifs, flanked by a pair of shaded bottle-green stepped lozenges with a central brick-red rosette issuing angular floral vine, in a charcoal-brown border of ivory, mole-grey and burgundy-red angular palmette and leafy-vine between narrow linked lozenge stripes, inner ivory and shaded green angular square paneled vine stripe, a sea-green broad panel at each end containing a dense ivory angular floral vine.
