This antique, circa 1920, Kerman rug has a deep indigo-blue field with an overall design of horizontal bands of ivory cusped palmettes issuing smaller palmettes containing a scrolling floral vine, surrounded by a dense polychrome floral vine linking further burgundy-red lozenges and part-lozenges, in an indigo-blue border of meandering leafy vine linking burgundy-red and light blue palmettes between ivory and moss-green floral vine stripes, plain outer burgundy-red stripe.
