This antique, circa 1910, Fereghan rug has a brick-red field with a vase motif at each end issuing a delicate polychrome floral and leafy vine around a central indigo-blue and shaded pink cusped lozenge medallion, a brick-red central floral lozenge with palmette pendants, the ivory spandrels with a flowering vase issuing a variety of floral sprays and flowerheads, in an indigo-blue border of polychrome linked palmettes and floral vine between sea-green floral vine stripes, plain outer brick-red stripe.
