This antique, circa 1890, Ghordes rug has a golden-yellow field with a column of four octagon lozenges each with a central panel containing a hooked lozenge surrounded by narrow polychrome stripes with an outward facing single floral stem, flanked at each side by part hooked lozenges, in a broad golden-yellow border of linked panels each containing a central floral panel flanked by a pair of small columns issuing a scrolling motif at each top, inner ivory and golden-yellow angular vine and an outer chocolate brown dense floral vine stripes.
