This antique, circa 1870, Persian Serab runner has a camel-brown field with a dense polychrome lozenge lattice around a column of four ivory lozenges each containing a central rosette issuing angular floral vine, three similar ivory part lozenges at each side and the spandrels similar, in triple striped border the inner brick-red and shaded blue reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe, the central ivory angular floral vine stripe the outer shaded green and chocolate-brown reciprocal floral vine stripe, broad outer camel-brown stripe with polychrome spaced boteh.
