This antique, circa 1890, Kurdish rug has a shaded brown-red field with tiny floral vine around diagonal rows of polychrome raspberry-red, shaded blue, bottle-green, ivory and fox-brown lozenges each containing a central polychrome lozenge with a hooked polychrome panel, in a brown-red border with linked bold cartouches each containing a hooked motif between ivory meandering and brown-red meandering light blue stripes.
