This vintage, circa 1970, part-silk Persian Tabriz rug has an ivory field with a delicate polychrome palmette and floral leafy vine around a cusped medallion enclosing a central rosette surrounded by a band of buff-brown linked lozenges containing palmettes surrounded by a deep navy-blue band with scrolling floral and palmette and leafy vine and an outer similar rust-red band, rust-red palmette pendants at each end, polychrome floral spandrels in each corner, in a broad rust-red border of scrolling floral vine linking palmettes and shield-shaped part-lozenges between pistachio-green, fox-brown and buff-brown floral vine stripes, plain outer soft-grey stripe.
