This antique, circa 1880, Karabagh rug features a field with three brick-red and pistachio-green rectangular panels surrounded by an ivory linked arrow-motif stripe each containing a bold sandy-yellow and chocolate-brown stepped lozenge enclosing a hooked blackcurrant-red lozenge medallion with a polychrome hooked flowerhead surrounded by a variety of flowerheads, stellar-flowerheads and S-motifs, in an apricot polychrome linked stellar-flowerhead and pistachio-green polychrome flowerheads border between triple polychrome arrow-motif stripes.
