This antique, circa 1900, Persian Kerman rug has a shaded ivory and light blue ground with an overall burgundy-red, apricot and light green design of a column of vase motifs issuing delicate flowering stems and linking a central palmette, surrounded by leafy vine above and a part-palmette issuing further floral sprays and scrolling floral vine and at each side by similar floral columns, in a burgundy-red border of ivory flowering plants linked by leafy vines, part-lozenges and a floral spray between light blue and sandy-yellow floral vine stripes, outer ivory stripe with part floral motifs.
