This traditional, circa 1940, hand-woven Persian Isfahan has a tomato-red field with a central indigo-blue cusped medallion with palmette pendants containing a dense profusion of flowerheads and a pair of weeping willows surrounded by open lozenges of light blue flowerheads alternating with palmettes and floral lozenge medallions, to the sides a pair of weeping willows and palm trees, the ivory spandrels similar, in a sky-blue border of palmettes alternating with floral sprays and tomato-red angular cusped arabesques between ivory and indigo-blue floral vine stripes.
