This antique, circa 1900, Chi-Chi rug has a shaded indigo-blue field with horizontal rows of light blue hooked linked lozenges between angular polychrome rosettes enclosed within a blue and terracotta-red reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe, in a shaded sky-blue border with a minor lozenge motif surrounded by panels forming a star-motif between ivory stellar-flowerhead, sandy-yellow rosette and terracotta-red ribbon-motif stripes, outer terracotta-red and blue reciprocal skittle-pattern stripe.
