This hand-woven Belgian Brussels tapestry is made in wools and silks, depicting a central male courtier on a stylized platform with an umbrella styled leafy tree above wearing a red jacket and holding a musical instrument, flanked by further pairs of courtiers and kneeling figures within a dense leafy clearing surrounded by leafy trees in the foreground and poetry inscription panels beneath the figures, in background a buildings and further figures seated under a tree, within a broad frame border of meandering acanthus leaf vine and animals between floral vine stripes, outer shaded blue plain stripe containing the Brussels
