How does the process work?
Clients are welcome to visit us at any part of the design process of making a home, when in need of inspiration. There are usually two scenarios to why you would want to have a custom rug created.
The first scenario follows: if you come to Mansour to browse antique rugs and are not finding one that suits your size, you need something larger to fit the space, we can help you recreate a new version of any antique and vintage style. Maybe you love the look of one specific antique Oushak, but the one you’ve fallen for is the wrong size for the space. Not to worry, we can make a beautiful reproduction!
When it comes to reproducing antique rugs, a designer can also find themself in a situation where the piece which captured their heart is above their budget. Luckily, making a reproduction will cost them a fraction of the price. As an example, a large, late 19th century Oushak may retail at $80.000, but we can remake one for about 20-30k.
The remakes of antiques are often made in their country of origin, knowing that the weavers use their traditional knotting style and technique that’s been used for decades. Beyond aesthetics, custom rugs are synonymous with exceptional craftsmanship. Almost always hand-knotted by skilled artisans, using time-honored techniques that ensure durability and longevity.
